Planning Special Events
As I sat in the funeral home yesterday, my mind flashed about all the things I needed to get done and posting something here on the blog was one of them. That made me think about the event I was at, and then I thought about the irony of sitting in a funeral home attending one of my own family member’s service while at the same time they were at the Staples Center in Los Angeles attending an event of the decade, Michael Jackson’s service. It was a spectacle to be sure and they had very little time to put it together. It just goes to show that planning a special event given the proper motivation and open check book can accomplish most anything. I have yet to see the numbers that were derived from the event at the Staples Center but I’m sure it was just somewhere ahead of the numbers I had with Grandmother’s service. I had somewhat of a chuckle as I imagined her in line at the gates of heaven with the likes of Mr. Jackson.
