I am very glad that I was able to get that very first blog post out of the way. It really wasn’t much fun to write, was really not my voice and how I write, and was more for the blog developer to actually have some content on the blog so he could work his voodoo magic. I needed a way to kick off this blog with a quick elevator pitch about what we will be doing here at the Convention Insider without making you miss the important part of “the first post”. I always say the initial post of a blog does one thing, it tells the world what day you first started blogging. That and I suppose it gives the search engines a wake up call that a new blog has created and the first content has been submitted. With now close to 100 million blogs all over the world, you would suppose that is a fairly frequent occurrence.
By now you are wondering what Convention Insider is and why we have asked you to come and participate. Simple, Conventions.net found a need for a complete guide and information source and decided we would provide the voice for that service. What are we selling? We are not selling anything, unless of course you want to send us money for no apparent reason. We are providing nothing more than information, a guide, a resource. We are going to wade through all the vendors, the suppliers the red tape and all of the other information available about planning your next conference, trade show, convention or other corporate event, and provide you with the best and most up to date resources available. In addition, we are going to ask for your feedback, and your review of the information we provide. If you don’t like something we submit as information, please let us know. If we get it right, let us know as well, and we will continue down that path. If you have a tip or want to provide information about your own company as a vendor or supplier of convention materials, or other services, we invite you to participate as well. However, don’t give us a sales pitch, let your service or product speak for itself. With enough participation, we’ll help provide feedback and create sales for you! We plan to build a community here where people can show us there stuff and where others can review it, rate it and provide feedback. When people come here to get the information, we want them to know it is the best information available. We here at Convention Insider are not about the sales pitch, we are here as the encyclopedia of all things related to planning your next event.
