Friday Feature: Conventions, Trade Shows, Bryan Quinn & The Ultimate Game Show More On Convention and Trade Show Word of Mouth Marketing Via Blogs and Other Online Sources
Oct 08

I have become a regular reader of Tim Bourquin over at Tradeshow Startup, and I read today with heightened interest.  Tim talks today about printers and the trade show industry.  Blogs are a great way to do research about vendors and suppliers.

womm When people are looking for vendors and suppliers for their convention or trade show and if event planners are looking at some of the influencers in the business, in this case Tim and his blog, to give a recommendation or feedback about a company, this is an example of how to search blogs for information.  We’ll see how this story ends, and perhaps it has a happy ending.  If they are listening to what is being said about their company, and I certainly recommend that they do, they can publicly address Tim’s comments and show the others looking for their service that they care about their customer.  This is the power of blogging.

It also goes to show you event planners and conference organizers to do your homework.  When you decide to narrow down your choice of the company that will provide you your products or services, make sure to do the research and search what is being said by their customers or see if you can find feedback about their company.  Caveat Emptor goes as far as a simple Google search.  In addition, you should check out sites such as Conventions.net and find out if they have a forum or feedback that talks about companies that provide these types of services.
