Not really, but at least it would be a cool idea if i was able to rent a spot on the newly named street. I was reading recently about the newly named street in Atlantic City called “Convention Boulevard.” A perfect spot for Convention Insider to live if I have ever heard one.

On August 6, the Atlantic City Council Meeting voted to rename Miss America Way as the new “Convention Boulevard”, and the idea was signed by Atlantic City Mayor Scott Evans.

According to Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA) President Jeff Vasser, “The renaming of Convention Boulevard defines Atlantic City’s thriving convention business by using a more business-like approach. Conventions and meeting business infuse the local economy with millions of dollars by booking hotel stays, eating in restaurants and shopping. Conventions are at the heart of what’s making Atlantic City a well-rounded destination. Convention Boulevard is the route that will get them here.”

The Atlantic City Convention Center’s new address is: One Convention Boulevard, Atlantic City, NJ, 08401.

I wonder how much the rent would be for me on the new boulevard? I guess I should be heading over to Atlantic City soon and check it out.

wildwoods-logo Running through a magazine I saw an advertisement for a convention center in New Jersey called Wildwoods Convention Center.  The part that caught my eye was not the fact that its a 260,000 square foot facility, or that it has 86,000+ square feet of exhibit space, 11,700 feet of ballroom space, or any of the other amenities that comes with the package but that is is on a beach!  Their tagline is great:

“260,000 square feet smack dab on 5 miles of beach.”

This is such a different look for a convention center.  I can’t imagine having a the boardwalk right outside the door of a facility, but they have apparently pulled it off.  The center has been open for business since 2002.  Try attending an event here and then kick off your shoes and get some sand in your toes.
